    This works for me:
    # cd /abiword/fonts/directory
    # rm fonts.dir fonts.scale
    # cp anotherfont.ttf .
    # ttmkfdir -d . > fonts.scale
    # mkfontdir

    BTW, I have noticed user running Abiword must have write permission on
    the fonts directory to Abi generate *u2g, *t42 and *afm.
