It's important to remember that win32 does not support UTF-8 directly. It has
to be converted from UTF8 to ANSI locale. If one day we run Unicode, it will
also need to be converted from UTF8 to Unicode.
5 of the last 10 ten bugs that I fixed were related to changes made to the XP
code assuming the win32 FE can process UTF-8 directly as GTK does for you guys
This is becoming a box of surprises. Everytime that I do a cvs update I find
new things broken (:-
I perfectly know that this not done in propourse, but it will request to
everyone extra care in this issue.
You can test that your changes do not break the win32 build before committing
them, or you can send a message to list asking the win32 hackers to check that
the option that you just hack works well for win32.
