While good as an interim measure, if AbiWord under XDarwin(Quartz) is
anything like xterm, then YUK. Slow. My opinion, FWIW, is stick to Carbon.
It may have a bad rep. but there was an article on TheRegister the other
day saying that Carbon's perceived badness is because most applications
using it are still designed for Mac OS < X and therefore aren't at all
optimised.
